A Practical Platform for Ward 4
Municipal governance, over Provincial and Federal, has the greatest impact on our daily lives. From housing support to libraries, parks to planning and development decisions, roads and sidewalks to drinking water and wastewater management. I believe that one of the greatest barriers we face on these issues is proper education and the communication of how decisions are being made. As your counselor, I will fight for responsible growth, reliable transit infrastructure, transparent decision making, and supporting programs that promote stronger community connections.

Key issues
What my campaign will focus on:
This platform centers on listening to the people in our community and sharing practical and factual data to drive positive change. How do we take Facebook rants and turn them in a coherent ask of our elected officials? How can small talk about your walk to work turn into the construction of better sidewalks in your neighbourhood? As citizens of a community, we have a responsibility to share with our elected officials what is frustrating us, what we like, and how we want to live our lives in the place we choose to call home. My campaign is committed to finding solutions to your problems; not stonewalling you with bureaucracy or putting your concerns on hold.

Responsible Growth
Support growth that respects Wilmot’s historic presence in our Region, protects farmland and neighbourhood identity, and ensures all new development is matched with the roads, services, and planning residents need.

Infrastructure That Works
Advocate for well-maintained roads, safe crossings for pedestrians that promote accessibility and walkability, and dependable water and wastewater planning that keep pace with community needs.

Empathetic Governance
Listening before acting, and learning before deciding. Communicating decisions being made with an empathetic lens to highlight shared connection over hate and division.
“The issues we focus on in this campaign may not be the issues we need to face one month, one year, or even further down the road. I commit myself to learning, listening, and ensuring that all decisions are being made with my neighbours front-of-mind.”
Priorities
Four Commitments for Wilmot
My approach is rooted in a wealth of experience navigating bureaucracies for my communities benefit. These priorities reflect what residents want most from council: thoughtful planning, dependable services, and a stronger sense of trust at the Castle.
Uplift local advocates and guide them to reaching their goals
Bolstering education of local democratic institutions and processes
Ensuring residents feel involved during every step of my decision-making
Supporting a safe and inclusive community for all residents

Plans
How These Priorities Turn Into Action
To my best understanding, Council can be a balancing act in which Councilors are often at the mercy of Provincial counterparts and policy, the staff employed by the Township, and the Mayor. As your advocate for Ward 4, I will push for consistent and clear updates on long-term planning documents, stronger community consultation in all steps of decision making, and making budgetary choices that reflect the needs of our community.
This means asking difficult questions, working collaboratively, staying focused on important local issues, and my accessibility to the residents I serve. Concrete promises are difficult to make in politics, but I am committed to working hard to earn and maintain your trust as Ward 4 Councilor.
